Proverb

Ciathanaga ikĩgwa, itiathanaga ikĩũmbũka.

Translation

Birds agree when flying down, but not when flying up.

Comment

The traditional proverb poetically emphasises the moral aspect that people will easily cooperate when deciding on an enterprise but are likely to quarrel as soon as they achieve their targets. The postproverbial rationalises why the birds flock together - to eat millet.
