Kũmenya mũno nĩ, kũmenyũria.

Translation

Knowing too much is like being ignorant.

Comment

The traditional proverb is poetic and discourages people from being too inquisitive. The postproverbial choice of reading a lot introduces modernity in that knowledge is acquired through literacy [reading] which is learned in formal schooling in the contemporary society.
