Mũteng’erania na mũteng’erio gũtirĩ, ũtanogaga.

Translation

The pursuer and the pursued, both get tired.

Comment

The original proverb is metaphorical and displays the futility of chasing because although the one chasing may eventually catch up with the target, he too will get tired as well. This is perhaps why the participants are deemed insane in the postproverbial.
