Proverb

Mwetereri arĩaga, ya mũgwatio/ciahoha.

Translation

One who is patient eats the best or mature food.

Comment

The traditional proverb and the postproverbial differ in their conception of patience. While patience is a cherished virtue in the traditional proverb, it is not so regarded in the postproverbial. To be patient with food is to end up eating a cold or rotten meal.
