Proverb

Rũĩ rũtwaraga, mũthambĩri.

Translation

The river drowns a seasoned swimmer.

Comment

In the original proverb, river and the expert swimmer are metaphorical of live situations in which nature dominates man. The postproverbial is literal as demonstrated by the semantic choice of arrowroots which grow in river banks.
